· Shembaganur Museum of Natural history

It is one of the most popular tourist places in Kodaikanal. The museum prime attraction is its orchidarium which is one of the best in the country. Maintained by the Sacred Heart College, the museum came into existence due to the efforts put in by E. Ugarte who was the Spanish Father and took control of its creator A. Anglade in 1951. The collection is entirely collected by the student teams. Ugarte described the significant assets of the museum in 1963 which also featured in 'A Museum of the Palais'. A record is known as 'The Botanical inventory in the Museum' was featured before this in 1954 by Father KM Mathew. Flora, Fauna, handicrafts, and anthropology are the major holdings museums have. There are around 2500 varieties of plants in the museum. There are nearly 300 species of trees and flower plants in the Orchidarium with a compilation of a variety of butterflies, snakes, mammals, and moths. Decoding the meaning of this temple’s name, Kurinji stands for hill area and Andavar refers to God, so that is why this temple is called Kurinjiandavar named after the Hill God Murugan.
